Posthuman

My Posthuman photography is what started Crylomorph as a whole. Using an exploration of my gender (or lack thereof), I began capturing self-portraits that embodied the merging of human and machine, blurring the lines between organic and synthetic. As well as heavily distorting my bodily features as a means of removing what I saw as being “human”, I also began to explore the idea of what it meant to be a machine. Because, in one way or another, we are all machines , functioning within the confines of societal expectations and programmed behaviours. This exploration led me to experiment with electronic music as a medium to express this concept further, using synthesised sounds and futuristic beats to create a sonic representation of the human-machine hybrid.
